I didn’t cook today unusually. My husband has started to cook lunch some Sunday’s recently and today he made a superb homemade tomato sauce with leeks, spring onions, carrots and celery which we ate with pasta and grated cheese for our meal. For pudding was a scrumptious carrot and banana loaf with a cream cheese topping and walnuts that our daughter baked and some fabulous fruit pies prepared by one of our sons.
Very sadly I didn’t manage to get any photos, but if there is any of the carrot cake left by tomorrow, I’ll get a picture then.
Please enjoy instead the attached pictures of my culinary travels in South Africa a few years ago.
This cafe restaurant was next door to the Huguenot Memorial Museum in Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and they served us the most delicious Tikka Masala I have eaten in my life! I really think I need to call and ask them please for the recipe!
I ate the pasta and sauce with no cheese & a slice of carrot and banana cake. Three hot chocolates again today and three cups of tea. Water, two digestives and a rich tea biscuit.
